We are delighted to announce a new team member, Craig Davies. Craig is a chartered accountant and tax adviser who acts for many in the creative sector. He is partner at Rawlinson & Hunter, the leading provider of tax and accounting advice to London's art world. He says "I've been following Artistate since its inception. Helping artists get their affairs in order is what I do, so joining forces feels very natural. It’s a great team and I am thrilled to be part of it."

Artistate is delighted to appoint Jessica Carlisle as our new Managing Director.

Jessica joined the Artistate team in September 2021 just as we launched. We are delighted she will be taking us to our next phase of development.

Jessica has extensive experience of working with artists in a variety of roles including gallery director, curator and artist agent. Before moving into art Jessica was a solicitor and thus she is uniquely placed to understand both the nuances of the art world and the technicalities of the legal world.

Jessica is ably supported by Camille Beckmann, now Business Developer, and our new administrator, Kitty Atherton.

Artistate is delighted to announce AFTER THE DROP: HOW TO MANAGE NFTS, a roundtable discussion on NFTs.

If the past year has taught us anything it's that NFTs are here to stay. The world of Cryptopunks and Squiggles has continued to amaze, surprise and confuse many of us. While we are certain that most - artists, industry professionals and curious spectators alike – are now aware of the significance of NFTs in the art world, we believe that many questions remain unanswered: what does it mean to own an NFT?

How can photographers manage their legacies in the digital era? What opportunities and challenges do new technologies bring about? What tools and mechanisms can help ensure the life of photographic work, and how do artists maintain control over their work within new channels of dissemination?

We were delighted to host a talk at London Art Fair in association with Forsters LLP.

Our panel discussed the ins and outs of working with artist estates and explored how artists might prepare for what happens to their work after their death.

The panellists were Sam Mundy, son of artist Gillian Ayres, and Matthew Travers, Director of Piano Nobile Gallery, and our own Catherine Hill, partner at Forsters LLP.
